Making Christmas bright for south Alabama area youth is a special joy for CSU employees. This year, CSU employees donated a total of 389 bicycles, games, toys and more to the Gulf Coast’s annual Magical Christmas Toy Drive.
“CSU is once again thrilled to work with WKRG-TV and the Salvation Army in an effort to brighten the holiday of children in the Baldwin County and Mobile area,” said Vicki Barnes, CSU director of community outreach, who led the university effort. “These are very difficult times for many in our area and so we hope this toy drive will fill the hearts and needs of families in our area to give them a truly Merry Christmas.
The annual toy drive is a partnership among the Salvation Army of Coastal Alabama and Pensacola Salvation Army and various business in south Alabama and Pensacola. Toys are sought for boys and girls from newborn to 12 years old to be dropped off at various partner locations throughout Mobile and Baldwin counties in Alabama and Escambia County, Florida. Last year, WKRG-TV and partners were able to provide more than 25,000 new toys for needy local children.
