Columbia Southern University’s (CSU) online psychology grads can now rejoice as the University of West Alabama will now accept their bachelor’s degrees toward its master’s in psychology program.

The two recently signed an agreement which “will give CSU students a new, exciting avenue of learning with the acceptance of our bachelor’s degree by UWA toward its master’s degree in psychology,” explained Lavinia Sparkman, Ph.D., academic program director for psychology at CSU. The articulation agreement between the universities allows CSU students to use their psychology degree toward the application process of UWA’s master’s program.

“We are happy to work with CSU as this agreement will provide us a new group of diversified students who carry unique life experiences,” said UWA College of Liberal Arts Dean Mark Davis.

“UWA will provide enhanced training in psychology to broaden and strengthen CSU students’ bachelor’s degrees. Our research shows that a master’s degree in experimental psychology can greatly improve students' opportunities at the doctoral level and with potential employers, and we are happy to play a part in providing the knowledge and skill they need to be successful.”

CSU psychology graduates can apply now to pursue the master’s degree at UWA, a residential and online university based in Livingston, Ala. Columbia Southern University is located in Orange Beach, Ala., and offers online degrees.

This innovative agreement offers a great opportunity for CSU graduates.
“At UWA, we seek partnerships that allow us to share with a broader audience the lifetime of benefits that come with a college education. By partnering with CSU, we can share resources that allow students enrolled in the program and faculty alike to grow through an expansive network that includes researchers in various fields of study and employment,” explained Davis.

CSU offers online certificate and degree programs in various fields such as human resource management, occupational safety and health, fire administration, criminal justice and business administration.
